About Sudoku
Sudoku is the classic number puzzle, made calm and easy on the eyes. The numbers are big and clear, the grid lines are crisp, and you can switch to a sepia or dark theme or make the numbers even larger in Settings. There is no countdown and no game over: take your time, put your phone down and come back later, because your puzzle is saved on your device.
Tap a square and then a number to fill it in, or switch to number first and fill every square for one number in a row. The row, column and box of the square you pick are softly highlighted, and every matching number lights up, so it is easy to see where a number can still go. Pencil notes clear themselves when you place a number nearby, and you can undo and redo as often as you like.
Every puzzle has exactly one solution and is graded by how people actually solve it, not just by counting the starting numbers. Easy puzzles need only simple “only one number fits” steps. Medium adds pairs and pointing numbers, Hard asks for hidden pairs, triples and X-Wings, and Expert brings XY-Wings and Swordfish. If you get stuck, the hint button fills in the next number and tells you why in plain words, for example “7 can only go in this square within its row”.
Every day there is a free Daily Sudoku at Medium level that is the same for everyone. Solve it to build your streak, see your solved days on a calendar and share your time with friends and family.
How to play Sudoku

Tips and tricks
- Start with the numbers that already appear most often. The small counter on each number button shows how many are left.
- Look for a row, column or box that is almost full. The last missing number is easy to find.
- Tap a number in the grid to light up every copy of it. The rows and columns it can still go in become easy to see.
- Pencil in notes on harder puzzles. When two squares in a box can only be the same two numbers, those numbers can be crossed off everywhere else in that box.
- Stuck? Tap 💡 Hint. It fills in the next number and explains why, or points out a number that does not belong.
