Why our Sudoku is easier on the eyes
- Big digits by default. The grid uses the full width of your phone or tablet, and the numbers are drawn in a heavy, plain typeface.
- Text size S, M, L or XL. Open ⚙️ Settings to make every number and button larger. The link above opens the game in XL straight away.
- Three calm themes. Light, warm Sepia and Dark. Dark mode with light digits suits many people who find white screens glaring.
- Clear highlighting. The row, column and box of the selected square are shaded, and every copy of the same number lights up, so you do not have to hunt across the grid.
- Notes stay readable. Pencil marks sit in a neat 3×3 pattern inside each square instead of tiny scribbles.
A large print book, without the book
Large print Sudoku books are popular because the small grids in newspapers can be a strain. Playing on a screen has a few extra advantages: you can zoom the text, you never run out of pencil eraser, and mistakes can be shown in red if you want them to be. Undo and redo are unlimited, and there is no clock unless you switch one on.
Prefer paper after all? Our printable Sudoku page prints one big puzzle per sheet, with an answer key.
Choose a comfortable level
Start with Easy (about 37 numbers already filled in), where every step is a simple “only one number fits here” move. More about Easy Sudoku. When that feels relaxed, try Medium, then Hard and Expert.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make the Sudoku numbers bigger?
Tap ⚙️ Settings in the game and choose L or XL under Text size. The setting is remembered on your device.
Is there a dark mode?
Yes. Choose Dark (or the softer Sepia) in Settings. The grid lines and numbers keep strong contrast in every theme.
Does large print change the puzzle?
No. The puzzle is the same, only the display is larger. All four levels and the Daily Sudoku work in every text size.
