How the Daily Sudoku works
- A new puzzle appears every day at midnight UTC (that is 8 pm Eastern or 5 pm Pacific in summer, and 1 am in the UK in summer).
- Every Daily is a Medium puzzle: a satisfying 10–20 minutes for most people, solvable with singles, pairs and pencil notes.
- Everyone gets the same puzzle, so you can compare times with friends.
Tips for a Medium Daily
- Start with the numbers that appear most often in the starting grid and look for hidden singles box by box.
- When the singles run out, add pencil notes to the emptiest box or row first, not to the whole grid at once.
- Look for two squares in a unit that share the same two notes: that naked pair clears those numbers from the rest of the unit.
- If you are stuck for long, 💡 Hint names the next technique. Using hints does not break your streak.
How streaks are counted
Your streak counts the days in a row on which you solved the Daily, using UTC dates. It stays alive until you miss a whole day: if you solved yesterday's puzzle, you can still keep the streak going by solving today's at any time before the next midnight UTC. Your best ever streak is kept separately, so a missed day never erases it. Streaks are stored in your browser on this device.
Streaks, calendar and sharing
Solve the Daily on consecutive days to build your 🔥 streak. Your Stats page shows a calendar with every Daily you have solved, your best streak and your best times for each level. When you finish, Share sends a short, spoiler-free result such as “Sudoku Daily #12 ✅ in 14:32”.
