About Mahjong Solitaire
Mahjong Solitaire is the calm tile-matching game played with a full set of 144 mahjong tiles. You clear the board by matching pairs of identical tiles, one pair at a time. Here the tiles are big and drawn crisply, with clear numbers in the corner, so you can tell the Dots, Bamboo and Characters apart at a glance. Light, Sepia and Dark themes are included, and an Easy-read tile style shows every tile as one big number or letter.
Only free tiles can be matched: a tile is free when nothing lies on top of it and its left or right side is open. Tap a free tile, then tap its twin. Flowers match any other flower and Seasons match any other season, just like the traditional rules. A button can dim the blocked tiles so the free ones stand out.
Every deal is built backwards from a finished board, so every game can be cleared. If you get stuck, the shuffle is free and keeps the game solvable. Undo is unlimited and the hint shows a pair that still leads to a win. There is no timer unless you turn one on.
Choose the classic Turtle with all 144 tiles, or a smaller Garden, Pyramid or Cross layout for a shorter game that suits a phone screen. Every day there is also a free Daily Layout that is the same for everyone. Clear it to build your streak, see your days on a calendar and share your time.

Tips and tricks
- Start with tiles on top of the stacks and at the ends of the longest rows. They block the most other tiles.
- When three or four identical tiles are free, think about which pair opens up more of the board.
- Turn on Free tiles to dim the blocked tiles while you learn.
- Pick Garden or Pyramid for a short game on a phone, and the Turtle when you have more time.
- Easy-read tiles show each tile as one big number or letter, which helps on small screens.
